And The Soldiers Sang, a children's book written by J. Patrick Lewis and illustrated by faculty Gary Kelley, was listed among a handful of books in a recent Sunday New York Times Book Review featuring reviews of children's books.

Says the reviewer, "Kelley's expressionistic pantings are haunting and magnificent."

Students from the class of 2012 may remember last summer's discussion with Gary on the image making for this book.
